The quickest way to get started is to to say "Alexa, open Kindspace" to your Amazon Alexa smart speaker.

On the newer Alexa devices with Fire TV capability, Amazon have introduced a service called Kid Space, which rather unhelpfully may open instead of Kindspace! If this happens try saying "Alexa, open the Kindspace skill".

If you do not own or have access to an Alexa smart speaker device you can download and use the Amazon Alexa app on your smart phone. You will be able to access the majority of the Alexa features including Kindspace through the app.

Kindspace also works on the Amazon Alexa Fire TV sticks and Fire tablets.

TOP TIP: Add the Daily Check-In to your morning Routine (see this guide to find out more about Alexa Routines) on your Alexa mobile app. Making Kindspace a part of your routine will help you to become aware of how you are feeling overall and is a great way to start your day. 

When you open Kindspace, you will be guided through the options, but you can also navigate directly to different parts of the app. Knowing this is handy to quickly get you to the tip category or activity you are interested in.

To do your daily wellbeing check-in just say "Alexa, ask Kindspace for my daily check-in"

To hear the tip of the day just say "Alexa, ask Kindspace for the tip of the day"

If you are looking for a specific tip category just say "Alexa, ask Kindspace for a [insert category] tip". For example "Alexa, ask Kindspace for a sleep tip". You can choose from 10 categories which include Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise, Mindfulness, Relationship, Personal Growth, Health, Complementary Therapy, You-time and Financial.

If you've listened to a tip and would like to hear another one from the same category you can say "Alexa, same again" instead of listening to the tip category list and then saying the category.

Kindspace also contains a specially curated library of inspirational quotes. To hear a quote, just say "Alexa, ask Kindspace for an inspirational quote".

To access the wellness activities just say “Alexa, ask Kindspace for a wellness activity”.

You are currently unable to control volume by voice when inside Kindspace (or any other 3rd party Alexa skill, unless it is an audio streaming service, like music or a book). To change the volume you have to physically change it with the buttons on the device, otherwise it will end the activity.

You are currently unable to pause a wellness activity part way through and come back to it later. This is the case for all 3rd party Alexa skills, unless they are an audio streaming service, like music or a book.

We're working with Amazon to try to improve these aspects for you and so you can do everything hands free.

At Kindspace we currently do not collect any personal data from your interactions with Kindspace on Alexa.

All of the information collected is anonymous and cannot be traced back to you. If this changes in the future we will inform our users ahead of time.
